Farora ("we", "our", or "us") is committed to protecting your privacy. This policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and your rights regarding your data.
Information We Collect
We collect the following types of information when you use Farora:
- Account information: email address and display name when you register or sign in with Apple, Google, or email.
- Location data: GPS coordinates to detect when you arrive at a location and issue travel stamps. Location is processed on-device and only the resulting stamp record is stored.
- Passport and travel data: information you voluntarily provide, including your given names, surname, nationality, and personal bio.
- Profile photo: if you choose to upload a custom avatar.
- Usage data: anonymised analytics about how you use the app (screens visited, features used), collected via Firebase Analytics.
- Purchase information: records of in-app purchases (Remove Ads), processed by RevenueCat. We do not store payment card details.
How We Use Your Information
- To provide and improve the Farora service.
- To detect your location and issue stamps.
- To sync your travel data across devices via your account.
- To process in-app purchases and verify premium status.
- To show relevant advertisements to non-premium users via Google AdMob.
- To respond to support requests sent to hello@farora.app.
Third-Party Services
Farora uses the following third-party services, each with their own privacy policies:
- Firebase (Google): authentication, database storage, and analytics.
- Google AdMob: advertising for non-premium users. AdMob may collect device identifiers and usage data for ad personalisation. You can opt out through your device's ad settings.
- RevenueCat: in-app purchase management and receipt validation.
- Sign in with Apple / Google: authentication only. We receive a user identifier and optionally an email address.
Data Retention
We retain your data for as long as your account is active. If you delete your account (available in-app under Profile → Delete Account), all your data including stamps, passport information, and account records will be permanently deleted.
Your Rights
You have the right to:
- Access the personal data we hold about you.
- Request correction of inaccurate data.
- Delete your account and all associated data at any time via the app.
- Opt out of personalised advertising via your device settings.
If you are located in the European Economic Area, you also have rights under GDPR including data portability and the right to lodge a complaint with your local supervisory authority.
Children's Privacy
Farora is not directed at children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us and we will delete it promptly.
Changes to This Policy
We may update this policy from time to time. We will notify you of significant changes by updating the date at the top of this page. Continued use of the app after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
